Plantation payroll still runs on muster books, paper chits and spreadsheets. Attendance, bunches, tonnage and monthly MAPA price changes are keyed in by hand, estate by estate. Month-end drags on, mistakes slip into workers’ wages, and EPF, SOCSO and bank submissions get rebuilt every month.
